TULSA, Okla. (AP) _ Williams Cos. (WMB) on Wednesday reported a loss of $15 million in its fourth quarter.
The Tulsa, Oklahoma-based company said it had a loss of 2 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were 17 cents per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 14 cents per share.
The pipeline operator posted revenue of $2.2 billion in the period.
For the year, the company reported that its loss narrowed to $424 million, or 57 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $7.5 billion.
Williams Cos. shares have fallen nearly 7 percent since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index has climbed roughly 5 percent. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $28.99, a climb of 93 percent in the last 12 months.
