Ariel Hsing has been practicing table tennis more than half her life.

This summer the 16-year-old prodigy will put those years of play to use, when she sports a US jersey at the Olympic Games in London.

SOUNDBITE 1 Ariel Hsing (woman, English, 10 sec.): "It's not about me, it's about my country. It's about the flag I’m representing, so I’m going to fight for every single point. I’m going to try until the end because I want to bring home a medal for my country."

The day begins at dawn with Ariel working at home to perfect her serve. After school it's off to four hours of practice at ping pong clubs, which have have always been a second home for her.

SOUNDBITE 2 Ariel Hsing (woman, English, 14 sec.): "I started playing because my mom played when she was a little girl and when she came to the US she and my dad played at local clubs. After I was born they couldn’t find a babysitter for me, so they just brought me along to the club and that’s just kind of how I started."

She has faced off with celebrities such as Warren Buffett and Bill Gates. But Ariel's regular opponents are fellow club members such as Tim and Lily, who ARE also headed to the London games.

SOUNDBITE 3 Rajul Sheth (man, English, 23 sec): "We had a goal that one player from our club should go for the Olympics in 2012, so we picked a bunch of the players, talented kids, started working hard with them and today 2012, we have three players going for Olympics from our club. I think never happened in the world from any other club can get three players qualified for the Olympics."

Although they face off against each other at practice, these Olympians all agree who their real challenger will be this summer.

SOUNDBITE 4 Lily Zhang (woman, English, 9 sec.): "Definitely the number one competition is China. They’ve dominated the sport for years and years and nobody has really beaten them yet."

SOUNDBITE 5 Timothy Wang (man, English, 8 sec.): "From China I learned a lot of discipline. their player during training they don’t speak at all, its all about table tennis until after the training."

At the 2008 games, China brought home the bronze, silver and gold. These three hope that this year they will serve up different results.
