Ulinzi Stars vow to overturn first leg defeat

Ulinzi Stars have vowed to overturn the 1-0 deficit against Al Hilal Benghazi of Libya in the Caf Confederations Cup.

The two teams will clash again on Saturday in the return leg fixture and coach Benjamin Nyangweso is confident that they will get a decent result and qualify for the next round of the competition. “It is not an easy match because they are a very tactical team.

"But if we work hard and minimize on our mistakes, it is a result we can overturn. The players are working hard in training and hopefully we will be at our best,” Nyangweso told the club’s official website.

Nyangweso revealed that the goal they conceded away in Egpyt during the first leg should not have counted but maintains he was impressed by the performance of his charges. “They scored when my defenders stood back thinking the referee would be calling for an offside which he didn’t.

"But we gave in a very good match and we had chances which we failed to use. This is one of the things we are looking at for the return leg. We should use our chances.”

The match will be played at Kasarani Stadium on Saturday at 3pm.
