Portugal's two-goal hero Cristiano Ronaldo expressed his satisfaction at reaching the last eight of the competition after the 2004 runners-up edged past the Netherlands 2-1 to grab second place in Group B.
After a lacklustre performance in Portugal's opening two matches, the Real Madrid star quietened some of his critics by helping Paulo Bento's side recover from a 1-0 deficit to defeat the Dutch in Kharkiv and set up a quarter-final with the Czech Republic.
"We have succeeded in our great aim, which was to qualify for the quarter-finals," said Ronaldo.
"Now we have to play against the Czech Republic, which is going to be hard, but we'll do our best."
