Omnicell misses 4Q profit and revenue expectations

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. (AP) _ Omnicell Inc. (OMCL) on Wednesday reported fourth-quarter earnings of $157,000.

The Mountain View, California-based company said it had net income of less than 1 cent on a per-share basis. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs and stock option expense, were 37 cents per share.

The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 41 cents per share.

The Omnicell Inc. posted revenue of $172 million in the period, also missing Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $179.3 million.

For the year, the company reported profit of $603,000, or 2 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $692.6 million.

Omnicell expects full-year earnings in the range of $1.32 to $1.42 per share.

Omnicell shares have climbed 12 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $38.10, a rise of 36 percent in the last 12 months.
