Laporta refuses to rule out Barcelona return

Former Barcelona president Joan Laporta has refused to rule out a return to the Catalan club, while also taking a swipe at the side's current hierarchy.

The Spanish politician enjoyed a successful seven-year spell as the team's surpremo before being replaced by Sandro Rosell in the summer of 2010.

Barcelona have failed to retain their Liga and Champions League titles this year, and Laporta believes the current board at the Blaugrana are not performing their role adequately.

"I had not thought about coming back but seeing what's happened to the club in the past year and a half, a club we built with so much effort, dedication and enthusiasm ... I might have to reconsider," he told Canal+.

Barcelona are in Liga action on Saturday evening when they entertain local rivals Espanyol at Camp Nou in what will be Pep Guardiola's final home game as head coach.
