Greece/Germany - Lahm has Germans ahead at break

A goal from skipper Philipp Lahm had Germany 1-0 ahead against Greece at half-time in their Euro 2012 quarter-final on Friday.

Defender Lahm broke the deadlock with a sizzling drive six minutes before the interval - but Die Mannschaft should have gone in at the break with an even healthier lead having missed a string of chances.

Michalis Sifakis was a busy man in the Greek goal, saving well from Mesut Ozil while Marco Reus twice went close as German Chancellor Angela Merkel watched from the stands.

Miroslav Klose, recalled for Mario Gomez, had a goal chalked off for offside as the Germans, who further rested Lukas Podolski and Thomas Mueller, dominated the exchanges.
