Dos Santos leaves future in hands of Tottenham

Tottenham winger Giovani Dos Santos has revealed he would like to leave the club for Spain this summer but has admitted his future is out of his hands.

The Mexican joined the north London club in 2008 from Barcelona but struggled to break into former manager Harry Redknapp's first-team plans.

And, after spending part of last season on loan with Racing Santander, the 23-year-old has targeted a return to La Liga.

"I have always said I want to play in Spain but it doesn't depend on me, I'm under contract with Tottenham,"  Dos Santos said after scoring both goals in Mexico's 2-0 win over Gabon at the Olympic Games on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Mexico Olympic coach, Luis Fernando Tena, has insisted that Dos Santos' current club situation is hurting the youngster at international level.

"He needs to find his rhythm at a club level and potentially that's what he can achieve," he said.

"It will be better for him to have that rhythm at a club level but unfortunately he doesn't get that many minutes at Tottenham. It would be better for Mexico if he played more."
