Leicester City’s Claudio Ranieri and his players were forced to make a last minute dash to Sunday night’s PFA Player of the Year awards in London after defeating Swansea 4-0 to keep their Premiership title bid on track.
Algerian international Riyad Mahrez, who was named PFA Player of the Year, and his teammates made it to the Grosvenor House Hotel in London, thanks to a fleet of helicopters that were specially chartered for them.
Besides Mahrez, 25, Jamie Vardy and his fiancee Rebekah Nicholson, were also among those who flew to the capital shortly after the win against Francesco Guidolin’s side.
The Foxes sealed a comfortable win to regain their eight-point advantage at the top of the table, but the late kick-off left them with little time to travel for the awards.
