Juggling footballer breaks world record

Freestyle footballer Matt Wolstenholme has broken the record for the longest distance travelled while juggling a football .

No doubt inspired by the Olympics, the Londoner took to the athletics track at Harrow School, and while keeping a football in the air, walked a full 20km.

The feat involved completing 50 laps of the track, which in less than perfect conditions took five hours to complete.

"It was a tough challenge," said Wolstenholme, 30. "I was out there for five hours in the wind and rain and I didn't eat or drink anything.

"Most of the time I simply kicked the ball from foot to foot, but there were a couple of hairy moments around the bends and every once in a while I had to use my knees to control the ball.

"Everything was aching by the end, but it was worth it."

Wolstenholme's record was set at the end of August, but only ratified by the Guinness World Records team on Wednesday.
