Singapore's Gu Juan got her Olympic women's singles badminton campaign off to a roaring start with an easy win in the group stage.

The China-born shuttler easily beat her Slovakian opponent Monika Fasungova with a confident, straight sets 21-5, 21-11 win at the Wembley Arena in London.

In a match that lasted slightly less than 30 minutes, Gu teased and pulled her opponent across the court effortlessly.

Her next opponent in the group stage will be Victoria Na of Australia.
