  • Wayne Rooney celebrates 30th birthday with Man United stars


    Wayne Rooney celebrated his 30th birthday in the company of family and his Manchester United teammates last Sunday.

    But after arriving in his match-day suit at Hilton hotel for the birthday bash, the Manchester United striker did not look like he was in the mood to celebrate. 

    The United captain was coming from a 0-0 draw to Manchester City, and suffered a hard knock on the head during the game. 

    Rooney was left bloodied after accidentally crashing into City captain Vincent Kompany during the first-half of the match. Surprisingly, he didn’t flinch as a United medical staff treated the wound.  


    Midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger was one of the first to arrive at Rooney’s birthday bash with girlfriend tennis star Ana Ivanovic.

    Ivanovic, 28, has been dating the German star since last September. They were spotted holidaying together after the pre-season break.


    Rooney’s do was well attended by the forward’s team-mates both past and present, including their glamorous WAGs.

  • Wilfried Zaha moves into new $5 million mansion


    Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha has signed a deal to purchase a mansion belonging to a British millionaire who recently passed on.

    Zaha, who rejoined Palace on a permanent deal in February after failing to make the grade at Manchester United where he earned £35,000-a-week ($74,800) will shell out £2.5million ($5.34 million) on the Surrey mansion.


    The seven-bedroom house located in Purley has six bathrooms, a cinema room and a swimming pool with a Eagles crest emblazoned on the tiling.

    Zaha’s new pad also contains a sauna, steam shower, hot tub area, family room as well as a large garage with a cellar underneath. 


    The 22-year-old, who has been capped twice by England, agreed to pay the full asking price for the house.

    Ivory Coast-born Zaha started his career at Crystal Palace before joining Manchester United in January 2013 to become Sir Alex Ferguson’s last major signing at Old Trafford.
