    Women boxers at the London Olympic Games

    Women will box in the Olympics for the first time at the 2012 London Olympic Games, bringing an end to the last all-male sport at the summer Games. Women will compete for three gold medals - Flyweight (51kg) category, Lightweight (60kg) and Middleweight (75kg) - squeezing the men into 10 weight categories from the 11 fought in Beijing. These are some of the women boxers who will be competing in the Games.

    1. Karolina Michalczuk won the world championship (54kg) division in 2008. This was the first ever gold medal won by a Polish woman boxer. Michalczuk is also a two-time European champion winning the 54kg category in 2005 ad 2009.
