Alise Post Biography
Encouraged to climb aboard a BMX bike by her older brother, Post began racing competitively at age 6. Fifteen years later, she has earned a spot on the United States Olympic team. Post received her place as a discretionary pick, just one year after suffering a knee injury last summer. She was among the nation’s top BMX riders in 2008 at age 17, but could not be selected to the U.S. team for the Beijing Games because she was two years too young for Olympic competition. Since then, Post went on to win the 2010 national championship and was crowned the North American Elite racing champion during that same season. Nicknamed “The Beast” for the way she attacks the course, Post finished eighth at the world championships in May. She ranks second in USA Cycling's power rankings behind fellow Olympian Arielle Martin.
