Ben Foster has revealed he has "never been happier" in his career after settling back into his hometown while at West Brom.
The England international made the controversial move across the Midlands from Birmingham to West Brom on a season-long loan, and after keeping ten clean sheets last season, the Baggies finalised a permanent deal for Foster this summer.
Since then, Foster has maintained his impressive form, conceding at home for the first time against QPR after three consecutive clean sheets. And after being voted the club's Player of the Year for last season, he feels he is stronger after learning from his experiences in football.
"I'm a Midlands person, I'm back at home and I've never been happier," Foster told the club's official website.
"I definitely don't regret anything in my career. I never once regret what I've done in the past - everything happens for a reason. You learn from it and it makes you a stronger person on a football pitch.
"I learned that at a club like United it's very cut throat, succeed-at-all costs, but you come away from it as a stronger person."
West Brom have climbed to 6th place in the Premier League table after the opening seven games of the season, with their only loss being a 3-0 defeat away to Fulham.
And Foster believes that despite their impressive start to the season under Steve Clarke, the club must focus on their aim of gaining 40 points before concentrating on higher targets.
He added: "The target is 40 points. Once we get to 40 points only then we can start to reassess things and start looking at things differently.
"Let's get safe first and then if we do that and we still have five, six or seven games left then we'll look to move onwards and upwards."
