Liverpool won't sell Suarez, says Rodgers

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers says controversial striker Luis Suarez will not be sold, as the Merseyside club target Champions League qualification next season.

Having started the group as favourites to finish bottom, the Denmark's opening win against Netherlands has put them in a strong position to qualify from the Group of Death, and they will be looking to striker Nicklas Bendtner to fire them to victory against Portugal.

The Arsenal-owned marksman, who spent much of the season on loan at Sunderland, has been in impressive form for his country with four goals in his last seven international matches, including one against Brazil last month.

He scored when Denmark beat Portugal 2-1 back in October in qualification for the Euros, and is priced at 3/1 (4.00) with Bet365 to net at any time.

Given his recent scoring form, that looks like an exceptional price against a Portugal side who will need to take the game to the Danes.

Having netted 63 goals for club and country this season, it is always difficult to back against Cristiano Ronaldo getting on the scoresheet despite him occasionally disappointing on the international stage.

The price of 13/10 (2.30) for him to score at any time in theory looks tempting, and given that Denmark on paper are the weakest team in the group, this should be the best chance for the Real Madrid forward to score.

The other match on Wednesday sees Netherlands take on Germany and any encounter featuring two sides as talented as these two undoubtedly provides a large number of potential scorers.

Mario Gomez was many people's pick for top-scorer before the tournament started and his excellently-taken headed goal in the opening match against Portugal would have seen his odds on picking up the Golden Boot tumble further.

The price of 7/5 (2.40) for him to score at any time looks pretty appealing, despite it not being the most imaginative bet in the world.

Netherlands' own exceptional striker is of course Robin van Persie, although the Arsenal forward lacked a little sharpness in the defeat to Denmark.

In a match the Dutch must win, Van Persie must be clinical and odds of 6/1 (7.00) on him to score first could hold some value, certainly when you compare that price to odds offered on him opening the scoring in the Premier League which are often considerably smaller.

Also worth considering is Germany's Thomas Muller, offered at 9/4 (3.25) to score at any time. The Bayern Munich attacker ended the season in excellent form, with three goals in his final two games, and got himself into some dangerous positions in the opening match at the weekend.
