Stevan Jovetic has revealed that it is his dream to emulate Francesco Totti at Fiorentina after declaring his wish to stay at the Artemio Franchi for the foreseeable future.

The forward made it clear that he is a huge admirer of the Roma forward, who has spent his entire playing career with the Giallorossi, and now he is ready to commit his own future to his current employers in the hope of achieving similar success to the Italian.

"Being captain of Fiorentina would be a source of pride for me, but we already have one," Jovetic told Il Corriere dello Sport:

"My dream, however, is to become like Totti. I also really want to play European football again with Fiorentina.

"What are the chances of me not playing for Fiorentina next season? Very little."

Jovetic has been arguably his side's best player this season, having scored an impressive 13 times in Serie A following a 2010-11 campaign that was written off due to injury.

However, the team languish in 16th place, only three points off the relegation places, and the 22-year-old cannot fathom their fall from grace.

"How is it that we are in this situation? It is something I cannot comprehend," Jovetic continued.

"We have thrown away so many points, it is true, but we do not deserve to be in the position we're in.

"We are a major outfit made up of individuals capable of making a difference, and we will prove it. We have no fear and we cannot let ourselves be distracted. We must play to win."
