AC Milan midfielder Mark van Bommel has voiced his opinion that Arsenal attacker Robin van Persie would be a great signing for the reigning Serie A champions.
Van Persie has a contract with the Premier League club until 2013, but has been reluctant to discuss a new deal, thus fuelling speculation that he could leave north London in the near future.
Milan CEO Adriano Galliani revealed his admiration for Van Persie after the Champions League round of 16 meeting between the Rossoneri and Arsenal, and Van Bommel has now taken the time to discuss the forward's situation as well.
"Van Persie is a great player. He has plenty of quality and he would be a massive signing for Milan," Van Bommel said to Il Giorno.
Nevertheless, Milan would be hard pressed to lure Van Persie away from the Gunners if they opted to make a move for the Dutchman as Arsenal are determined to keep their star player in London.
