Ex-La Liga player Daniel Kome believes that his compatriot Alex Song has what it takes to succeed in Spain and will make the current Barcelona side even better.

The Cameroonian is expected to complete his move to the Blaugrana in the coming days and his former international team-mate praised the physical attributes of his compatriot.

"Song is a beast on the pitch and he's also gifted technically. Without a doubt he'll improve Barca, who at the moment are looking like more of a team than Real Madrid," Kome said to COMRadio.

"Alex combines physical strength with good technique. His best quality is that he never complicated things, he always goes for the easy option. I'm delighted for him and I'm sure it won't take him too long to adapt to the team."

"His best quality is his ability to create goals with his passing. He'll compete for a place in the starting line-up, I'm certain of that. He can play in the middle of the park but he can also play at centre-back, no problem."

Kome continued by affirming his view that the 24-year-old midfielder will provide a positive personality in the Camp Nou dressing room.

"He's got a special personality. He creates a lot of atmosphere in the dressing room, but he never causes any grief.

"He's always got a smile on his face and he never had a fall out with anyone in the dressing room at Arsenal."

Song is expected to undergo a medical at the Catalan club on Monday before signing a five-year contract with Tito Vilanova's side.
