Beckham junior trains with QPR academy

LONDON (Reuters) - David Beckham's eldest son Brooklyn has trained at the junior academy of London club Queens Park Rangers and bookmakers are already offering short odds that the 14-year-old will emulate his father by playing for England. QPR said on Twitter that he was training with them but had not officially joined their academy. Beckham senior, who began his career by joining Manchester United's academy also at the age of 14, retired from the game last week after helping Paris St Germain

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis revealed on Tuesday that he would be willing to discuss a deal with Manchester City that would see strikers Edin Dzeko and Edinson Cavani move in opposite directions.

If Sir Alex Ferguson coined the phrase "squeaky bum time" to denote a period of extreme nervous anxiety, then there must be a high pitch squeal emanating from the collective posterious of Deportivo fans.

One win in 13 league games has left the Galicians rooted to the bottom of La Liga and this week they parted company with manager Domingos Paciencia after just six matches in charge.

New boss Fernando Vasquez (formerly at Depor's arch rivals Celta) will be hoping to begin his tenure with a victory at the Sanchez Pizjuan and Paddy Power offer odds of 6/1 (7.00) on an away win. Sevilla meanwhile who have shown glimpses of improvement under their own new manager Unai Emery and can be backed at 2/5 (1.40) with the draw offered at 10/3 (4.33).

However, apart from the potential boost which often comes with a new man in charge, we have seen precious little from Depor to encourage any sort of investment in them.

Last weekend's pitiful 3-0 capitulation at home to Granada underlined just how deeply rooted their problems are and Sevilla should have little problem in continuing their good form which has seen them win each one of their last three home matches.

Not only are Depor bottom of the table, but they are comfortably the worst team in the opening 45 minutes of matches this season, having been trailing 11 times at the break so far this season. The odds on an outright Sevilla victory are too small, but backing them to be ahead at half-time looks a sound investment at 5/6 (1.83).

For a value bet back exactly two goals to be scored in the first half which is offered at 11/4 (3.75) which has paid out in two of Depor's last three away games.
