Serie A champions Juventus are close to sign promising Socceroos midfielder James Troisi, according to Sky Sport Italia.

Bianconeri's sporting director Fabio Paratici met Troisi's agent on Wednesday in Milan's Hilton Hotel in order to find a deal for the 24-year-old Australia international, whose contract with Turkish club Kayserispor expires on June 30 following a pay dispute.

Juventus would then loan Troisi alongside Netherlands Under-19 international Ouasim Bouy to newly promoted Pescara for a season as part of the transfer for Delfini's midfielder Marco Verratti, who is ready to join the Italian giants for €2.5 million.

The move is boosted by Troisi's European heritage, as his father and mother are from Italy and Greece respectively, which allows him to be considered an European Union signing if an agreement can be reached.

Troisi, who previously played for Newcastle and Genclebirligi, had a fine 2011-12 campaign with Kayserispor, having scored 10 goals in 27 appearances in the Turkish Super Lig.
