Barcelona president Sandro Rosell has cast doubt over the legitimacy of Real Madrid's Liga triumph in 2011-12, saying that the competition was strange.

The Spanish capital club finished at the top of the Primera Division standings with a staggering 100 points, a new record in the competition, with Barca placing second.

Throughout the season, several Blaugrana figures spoke of their dismay with the state of refereeing in La Liga, and Rosell has now admitted that he was not satisfied with the way the tournament unfolded.

"We all know that the last edition of La Liga was very strange," he told ARA.

Rosell then gave his full backing to coach Tito Vilanova, stating that the 42-year-old is ready to take the reins at Camp Nou even though he underwent surgery to remove a tumour less than a year ago.

"I see him cheerful and in perfect health," he added. "Since October, we had no doubt that he would be the new coach if Pep Guardiola decided to leave."

The Barca chief then hailed the impact of Ronaldinho at Camp Nou, as the Brazilian helped to put an end to the club's title drought as he powered the Catalans to two league crowns and a Champions League triumph.

"Ronaldinho put an end to the negative dynamic that had taken over the club and made it positive again," Rosell added.

"This is what Ronaldinho did. He changed Barca's course, and his contribution still lasts."
