Montpellier president Louis Nicolllin has voiced his distaste at the increasing financial demands being made by his players in the wake of their surge to the Ligue 1 title.

Rene Girard's men pulled off no mean feat by seeing off main rivals Paris Saint-Germain last season, but have seen prospects of retaining their prize in the next campaign dwindle, following the anticipated loss of high-profile names.

Top goalscorer Olivier Giroud has already departed for the Premier League with Arsenal, while AC Milan transfer target Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa is expected to follow suit next year on a free, once his contract expires.

"I would have preferred not to be champions at this rate," lambasted the entrepreneur to Midilibre.

"I'm really tired of players who are never happy, such are the premiums and increases they ask for. I can't stand average players who get too big for their boots!"

Nicolllin has thus far rebuffed all attempts by Milan to take Yanga-Mbiwa to Serie A this summer, prompting the Rossoneri to carry their search for a new defender on to Colombian stopper Cristian Zapata.
