Neymar: I do not know whether I will renew with Santos

Santos star Neymar has made it clear that he has not yet made a decision about his future amid ongoing interest from Barcelona.

The Blaugrana are hopeful that right-back Dani Alves can convince his friend to make the move to the Spanish giants, as exclusively revealed by Goal.com last week, but the 20-year-old is in no rush to make a final decision as he has revealed that he could also opt to renew his contract with his current club.

"Dani’s always embarrassing me! He’s put me in a tight spot," Neymar was quoted as saying by Fifa.com.

"Even I don’t know whether I'll still be at Santos after the World Cup. My contract runs to 2014 but there is still a long way to go before the World Cup. I don’t know if I will renew it or not.

"It’s a personal issue and I’ll have to talk it through with my family and Santos. We’ll definitely speak about it further down the line."

Neymar then went on to discuss Brazil's chances at the 2014 World Cup, and stressed that they need time to improve.

"If you look at the ranking, Brazil aren't in the top five at the moment. But we’re working hard on the team’s identity and at becoming more of a unit.

"We haven’t been playing together for that long. The team’s been through a lot of changes and it needs time to forge that identity and reach the top again."
