Luiz Felipe Scolari believes Neymar can be a better player than Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

The Barcelona and Real Madrid stars are widely believed to be the best two players on the planet but the former Brazil and Portugal coach has said the Santos striker can become even better than La Liga pair.

"Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar are the three best in the world," Scolari told reporters.

“Neymar can reach and overcome [Ronaldo and Messi] in the coming years. Neymar would fit perfectly into [Barcelona], because he's a great player and has excellent qualities. Right now he is in Brazil and is very happy.”

Scolari, who won the World Cup with Brazil in 2002, reckons none of the three are as good as Selecao legend Pele.

He added: “For me Pele is still the best in the world and will be for years.”

The former Chelsea manager also revealed he would relish the opportunity to one day take up the reigns at Camp Nou.

He continued: “In future I would very much want to be the coach of Barca, for the friendship that unites me with President [Sandro] Rosell.”

Scolari is currently unemployed after being sacked by Palmeiras in September.
