Montpellier trainer Rene Girard has of the opinion that his team deserved to emerge winners from the top-of-the-table clash against Paris Saint-Germain last weekend.
MHSC were denied victory in the final minutes of the match as Hoarau popped in with a late equaliser to tie the game at 2-2 and earn an important result for the capital club.
Despite letting two points slip, Girard stated that he is happy with the performance of his team, who he believes deserved to triumph.
"If one team deserved to win, it was us. We posed PSG a lot of problems. We went behind, came back on level terms, then went in front," he told reporters after the match.
"It's a shame that we lacked a bit of lucidity at the end, we lost the ball, and that put us in trouble. But it was a great performance, nonetheless.
"We stay second, only by a tiny little point in the table. And I can assure you that we're going to annoy [PSG] all the way."
Montpellier continue their bid for their first ever Ligue 1 crown by hosting Bordeaux on February 25.
