Michu has spoken of his delight at working with Swansea manager Michael Laudrup before describing the finer details of his role as he adjusts to life in the Premier League.
The £2 million summer signing from Rayo Vallecano has made an instant impact in Wales, notching two goals against QPR on his debut and following up with two additional strikes against West Ham and Sunderland.
Speaking about the man who convinced him to join the Swans, Michu told reporters: "Having him as a coach is a great experience.
“He still has more quality than any of us. He always defends the player, takes care of us and is always trying to get the best from us.
"A €2-3m investment is a great expense for a Spanish club. Swansea made the bid for me, I felt excited to play for Michael Laudrup and here I am."
The 26-year-old's move to the British Isles is the first foray abroad in his career, but Michu arrived equipped with the tools to deal with such a move, adding: "I learnt it [English] when I was a kid at school, but the accent here in Wales is quite different.
"Playing abroad is a great experience. Apart from playing and enjoying what I like, I will return to Spain knowing a new language."
So far, Michu has operated behind the lone striker in much the same position that Gylfi Sigurdsson found so much success for Swansea last year.
Discussing his role, the forward said: "I can play in three different positions in the attack, but I prefer to play just behind the striker.
"In England there is too much space between lines. In Spain it's more difficult to be the playmaker.
“Fortunately, I trust my first touch, which lets me take advantage of many situations. Of course, playing for a team like Swansea helps me a lot; we like to keep possession."
Michu was the top-scoring midfielder in La Liga last season and although he rates the Spanish top-flight as superior, he was generous in his praise of the Premier League.
"It's a shame to see how many talented players are leaving Spain now. La Liga is the best league in the world because Barcelona, Real Madrid, Messi and Cristiano play there, but the Premier League is better in terms of organisation, tickets sale, stadiums... and the schedule, of course.
“It doesn't make any sense to start a game one day and finish it the following day."
The Swans' latest hero does have one personal ambition still unfulfilled: "My dream is to play for the Spanish national team,” he adds.
“Millions of children try to play football in Spain in a professional way, but just a few get to do it."
And he will have another chance to impress Spanish national team boss Vicente del Bosque on Saturday as Swansea travel to Aston Villa looking to record their third win of the season.
