Chelsea winger Marko Marin has expressed his happiness at scoring on his debut for the Blues against Seattle Sounders.

Marin also grabbed an assist in a 4-2 victory over the MLS side and the former Werder Bremen star was pleased to make an immediate impact.

He told Chelsea's official website: "Of course it was a nice feeling to score in the first game and to have an assist too, and I am happy with my performance.

"I felt good today and I think it was okay for my first match. And playing here was not like in Europe. It was another atmosphere when we came out with the firework explosions, and it was a really nice feeling to play in this stadium."

Despite an impressive start to pre-season the German insisted that preparations are far from complete as the Blues look to break back into the Premier League's top four and defend their Champions League crown.

He added: "We've trained every day and we have been doing possession games but of course not everything is good. We have to work a lot more on these things but I think it will be good."
