LONDON (Reuters) - Wolfsburg completed a surprise victory in the women's Champions League final on Thursday, beating twice defending champions Olympique Lyon 1-0 thanks to a second-half penalty from Martina Mueller. The German side became the first team to defeat the French champions in normal time in 120 games. Favourites Lyon, who were appearing in their fourth straight final, dominated for large parts of the match but were unable to find a breakthrough at Chelsea's Stamford Bridge stadium.

The 45-year-old coach says that the 1-1 draw against Manchester City earlier this season gave his side the belief that they could compete with Europe's finest teams

The last time these two teams met was in the Quarter-finals of the Malaysian FA Cup, when Terengganu edged out the Singapore side 1-0 on aggregate, with Joseph Kalang Tie's solitary strike at Stadium Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah in Kuala Terengganu proving to be the winner.

The LionsXII also have another dubious record against the East Coast side - they've not scored against the Turtles all season.

The return league fixture at Jalan Besar Stadium played at the end of January ended 1-0 to the visitors with Francis Forkey Doe grabbing the winner 12 minutes from the end.

But fortunes have since changed. Terengganu's victory over the LionsXI in the FA Cup would prove to be the peak of their season, as they soon went into free-fall, beginning with the 6-1 demolition at the hands of Selangor FA in the league. The defending FA Cup champions were also knocked out of that competition by Premier League side Sime Darby

A moderately successful AFC Cup campaign saw them bow out to fellow Malaysian Super League side Kelantan, under new coach Peter Butler who led them to a 3-0 win against T-Team over the weekend, their first victory since April.

LionsXII meanwhile are still in fine mood after a splendind 9-0 rout of Sabah FA on Saturday night. They will be playing their last League fixture before taking a month-long break, while the rest of the league plays catch up to the current leaders.

Kelantan's win over the weekend means V.Sundramoorthy's men are still only six points ahead having played five games more. But the LionsXII coach has already signalled for a top-two finish as the new target, and that, they will be looking to ensure on Tuesday night.
