Liverpool are set to complete the signing of Fabio Borini after agreeing a fee believed to be in the region of €14 million (£11m) was agreed with Roma.

Upon completing the move, the Italian forward will be reunited with former Swansea boss Brendan Rodgers, becoming the 39 year-old's first signing at Anfield, after previously working together during a six-month loan spell at the Liberty Stadium.

Comfortable out wide, or up front, the former Chelsea youngster is set to undergo a medical ahead of his proposed move later today, with just personal terms left to agree upon..

It caps off a meteoric rise for the 21 year-old striker, who after an excellent season at Roma which saw him strike nine league goals in 24 games, went on to clinch a place in Cesare Prandelli's Italy squad for Euro 2012.

Roma have themselves just completed the full signing of Borini two weeks ago, after originally purhcasing 50 per cent of the player's rights from Parma back in January, taking their total spend on the player to £7m, but they look set to make a quick profit.

With Dirk Kuyt already having departed to Turkish club Fenerbache and question marks remaining over the respective future's of both Andy Carroll and Maxi Rodriguez, the signing will provide a welcome and timely boost as Rodgers seeks to bolster his forward ranks ahead of the new season.
