La Liga is in full swing now and the second round of matches included some surprising results, not least Real Madrid's 2-1 defeat at Getafe on Sunday. There were plenty of standout performers in an exciting weekend of matches in the Primera Division. Here, Goal.com takes a look at the pick of the bunch.

In goal, Osasuna's Andres Fernandez is chosen after an impressive display against Barcelona, which saw him frustrate the Catalans for long periods with a number of fine saves. Ultimately, it was not enough, but he was his side's outstanding performer on Sunday.

Nunes produced a polished performance in defence as Mallorca held Malaga to a point, while Juan Valera defended well for Getafe and headed the equaliser in his side's surprise 2-1 win over Real Madrid. The last place goes to Barcelona's Jordi Alba for his tireless work in defence and attack in the Catalans' hard-fought victory at Osasuna.

In midfield, Roberto Trashorras was excellent in Rayo Vallecano's impressive win over Betis, while Patrick Ebert was the best player on the pitch as Valladolid beat Levante 2-0. Elsewhere, Abel Aguilar struck twice as Deportivo La Coruna earned a creditable draw at Valencia and Arda Turan was key in Atletico Madrid's 4-0 success at home to Athletic Bilbao.

Further forward, Arda's Atletico team-mate Radamel Falcao is in with a perfect score after his hat-trick at the Vicente Calderon on Monday. The Colombian is joined by Rayo's match-winner Leo Baptistao and Real Sociedad's Imanol Agirretxe, who scored both goals in his side's 2-1 win over Celta Vigo.
