Keita: I would like to finish my career at Barcelona

Editors' Picks

Seydou Keita is desperate to stay at Barcelona, revealing that his dream is to finish his career at the club.

The Mali international still has two years to run on his current contract with the Blaugrana but he will be free to leave Camp Nou at the end of June having failed to feature in at least 50 per cent of the Catalans' official outings last season.

However, new boss Tito Vilanova has expressed his interest in holding onto the midfielder and the player himself is now very open to extending his stay in Catalunya.

"I am yet to speak with the club to sort out my future," Keita is quoted as saying by Mundo Deportivo.

"But I want to continue; this is my desire. I would like to retire at Barcelona, so I hope that can be the case.

"We must talk and see what they offer and what they want. But my family is happy in Barcelona."

Keita has been previously linked with Serie A giants AC Milan, as well as big-spending Liga outfit Malaga.
