Young Tottenham striker Harry Kane has talked of his pride after making his Premier League debut last weekend.
A year after making his debut for the north London side in a Europa League play-off home leg against Hearts, the 19-year-old came on in the closing stages as Spurs fell to a 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United at the Sports Direct Arena.
Kane was impressed on loan at Championship side Millwall last season – notching 10 goals in 28 appearances - but he believes playing in the Premier League is the next logical step
He told the club’s official website: “As a kid you grow up wanting to play in the Premier League and I got my five minutes at the end at Newcastle on Saturday.
“It’s a proud moment for me and my family, and hopefully it’s just the start with many more to come, and plenty of goals.
“The Premier League is the next progression. I played Europa League last season and now I want to play in the Premier League. I did well in pre-season and it was great to get on.”
Following the arrival of Emmanuel Adebayor from Manchester City earlier this week, Kane is one of just a trio of strikers at the club.
And manager Andre Villas-Boas played down the chances of further adding to the attacking options at the club at a press conference earlier on Thursday.
He said: "With Adebayor, Defoe and Kane coming through, I think I have enough options
