Inter defender Juan is determined to prove his worth at the club, and is hoping to reach the same level as Paris Saint-Germain star Thiago Silva.

The 21-year-old recently returned to the Nerazzurri after featuring at the London Olympics with Brazil, and he's eager to make an impact in the new season.

"Am I the new Thiago Silva? I hope so, but I need to work harder," Juan was quoted as saying on the official Inter website.

"He's brilliant, I hope I can become as good as him.

"This is a great team and I hope to become a great player for this club, like [Javier] Zanetti and [Esteban] Cambiasso. I'd like to stay here.

"I'm prepared to do whatever the coach wants. I definitely prefer to play at centre-back but I'm available wherever."

Juan joined Inter from Internacional in January 2012, but has so far been unable to secure regular first-team action at the Giuseppe Meazza side.
