Inter president Massimo Moratti admits to uncertainty over Claudio Ranieri's future

Inter president Massimo Moratti gave his support to under-pressure Claudio Ranieri, but refused to assure the long-term future of the struggling coach.

The Milanese side are in the midst of a disastrous run of form, having lost six of their last seven games while recording a draw in the other.

Speculation has been rife that the club are set to dispense with their coach for the second time this season, and Moratti admits that he did not know what would happen in the long term.

"Let's try to move forward with him, then we'll see what happens," he told reporters.

"It's a difficult moment, but it will pass."

Meanwhile, amid rumours that the club are looking for financial backing from foreign sources, Moratti has stated that he is solely contending with affairs on the pitch.

"We'll think about those things in due course. For now we're focused on the sporting issues."

Inter face a difficult trip to Napoli on Sunday in Serie A, having been knocked out of the Coppa Italia by Walter Mazzarri's men at Stadio San Paolo a month ago.
