Schalke striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has warned Bayern Munich's Mario Gomez that he is gunning for the Bundesliga Golden Boot award this season.
The former Real Madrid and AC Milan hitman is currently the joint-leading scorer in the German top-flight with 18 goals, the same as Gomez, who won the award last season.
The 28-year-old could have overtaken the German striker last weekend against Wolfsburg had he not missed his spot-kick in the 4-0 rout, and the Dutchman made no bones about his error.
"That was really frustrating," he told the Bild. "I really hit the penalty badly.
"Of course I want to score more than Gomez. I am delighted to be at the top of the scoring charts."
Huntelaar will go face to face with his rival on Sunday, when the Royal Blues travel to the Allianz Arena to take on Jupp Heynckes' side.
"It would be great for the team if I were to score against Bayern, but they are at home so they are the favourites," he said.
The Bavarians enter Sunday's clash third in the table, just one point ahead of Schalke in fourth. The game kicks off at 15.30CET.
