Leading retailer of IT, electronics and home furnishing solutions, Courts, officially kick started a series of public engagement activities, in the lead up to the Liverpool Football Club (LFC) International Football Academy & Soccer Schools.

Fans of the acclaimed English football club will be able to win a chance to take part in the LFC International Football Academy & Soccer Schools in November 2012, or catch the Reds in action in 2013 at Anfield.

The activites are scheduled to take place from 19 to 30 November.

Over the course of the 10 days, each group will take part in training sessions where certified coaches from the Academy will engage local football stars and hopefuls in a rigorous, specially-customised training syllabus aimed to impart the skills and knowledge that underscores the blazing trail of LFC throughout the years.

Apart from Singapore, the LFC International Football Academy & Soccer Schools will also be held in Malaysia, with the aim to groom over 600 football enthusiasts from both countries.

This is part of Courts’ commitment to grow football as a sport in Singapore and inject more dynamism and interest in the sport among youths, students and players here. The Liverpool International Football Academy & Soccer Schools, with its stable of excellent coaches, will help raise the bar for Courts Young Lions players over two days of training camp.

To groom the next generation of football talents here, school players will have the chance to learn from the experts in the Academy, with three days each devoted to players selected from the recently concluded National Inter-school Football Championships 2012.

Sessions have also been earmarked for members of WE CARE Community Services, the first non-denominational outpatient centre treating addictive diseases in Singapore.

“We remain steadfast in our commitment to promoting and growing football locally, and are excited to partner with Liverpool Football Club to bring its prestigious Academy to Singapore. With over 500,000 Reds fans in Singapore, myself included, we are confident that the Academy will go down as a highlight in the national sporting history books, and further drive the passion that local football players and enthusiasts have in the sport.” said Terry O’Connor, Chief Executive Officer at Courts Asia Pte Ltd.

He added: “As the Academy falls within the year-end school holiday period, friends and families now have an added opportunity to spend time and forge closer bonds with each other. We are also glad that we can share this opportunity with members of the community who mirror the strong fighting spirit that the Reds possess, namely our friends at WE CARE Community Services.”
