Fabio Borini is "seriously considering" joining Liverpool after learning of the Premier League club's interest in him, according to the Roma striker’s agent.

Brendan Rodgers is a known admirer of Borini after working with him at Chelsea, before a successful loan spell at Swansea and the Serie A club have admitted there is substantial interest from the Anfield side.

Borini’s representative Marco De Marchi added the three parties will be continuing discussions throughout the week, but refused to be drawn on which way the 21-year-old’s mind may be leaning.

Speaking to Radio Radio, De Marchi said: "Roma has informed us of Liverpool’s interest in the boy. Now it's up to Fabio to have his say."

RED REVIVAL
9/4 Liverpool are 9/4 with Sportingbet to clinch a top-four spot in the Premier League next season.

De Marchi continued on IlSussidiario.net, saying: "We were alerted by Roma of the existence of this deal. I cannot honestly tell you the details but, as [sporting director, Walter] Sabatini has already said, we're now seriously considering it.

"Would the player want to go to Liverpool? Honestly, I don't want to commit myself as there will be more news in the coming days. Wait for that."
