Joachim Low believes that another decisive defeat for Bayern Munich could have a negative effect on a core group of his Germany squad for Euro 2012.
The Bavarians were hammered 5-2 in the DFB-Pokal final on Sunday by Borussia Dortmund, the same team who pipped Jupp Heynckes' men to the Bundesliga crown.
And with eight Bayern players named in his provisional squad ahead of the tournament in Poland and Ukraine, Low is wary about the effects of another big loss.
"After losing the league title and the Cup Final to Borussia Dortmund, losing the Champions League final in Munich would be a huge blow for some of the players", Löw told Kicker.
"They'd be very disappointed, and if that happens, I'm probably giving them two or three more days to clear their heads before joining us", the 52 year-old revealed.
Conversely, he is also aware that a victory could provide a unique confidence boost for his squad.
"If they win the match against Chelsea, that means they're part of the best team in Europe. That would be great for our players: they'd be very motivated, and they'd get quickly in the rhythm we want", Low added.
The eight Bayern players called up are Manuel Neuer, Philipp Lahm, Jerome Boateng, Holger Badstuber, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Thomas Muller, Toni Kroos and Mario Gomez
