Malaga striker Julio Baptista faces four months on the sidelines after undergoing degenerative fibrosis to repair a partial tear in his right Achilles tendon.

The 30-year-old missed the majority of last season because of the injury and underwent the procedure at a Barcelona hospital.

The damage was sustained during Malaga's 3-2 win over Getafe in October 2011, and will definitely see the Brazil international miss out on next season's Champions League qualifiers and a large part of the season start following his latest operation.
