In what has been dubbed football's very own version of the Oscars, Cristiano Ronaldo and his Real Madrid teammate, Sergio Ramos, certainly delivered the glamour and presented their stunning partners at the ceremony in Zurich.
The traditionally low-profile Xavi Hernandez -- noted for shunning the spotlight -- also flew in from Barcelona with his girlfriend, Nuria Cunillera. His recently-married teammate, Andres Iniesta boarded the same flight to Switzerland with his wife, Ana.
Spanish national Xabi Alonso also arrived at the ceremony with his wife, Spanish model Nagore Aramburu.
The midfielder was inducted the FIFPro World XI 2012 - voted by 50,000 players from all over the world, along with ten others including Gerard Pique, Falcao, Marcelo and Dani Alves.
His Real Madrid teammate and goalkeeper, Iker Casillas, who is reportedly engaged in a simmering feud with Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid, also made the prestigious list. His girlfriend, Spanish TV personality and journalist, Sara Carbonero, whom he has been dating since 2010.
Ronaldo, who came in second place for the "Best Player" award, has been in two-year relationship with Russian Sports Illustrated model, Irina Shayk, 26 (above).
His gorgeous fiancee currently plays the dual role of host and judge on reality TV show 'Russia's Next Top Model'.
Shayk's other role in Ronaldo's life - that of being a 'step-mother' to his 2-year-old son, Ronaldo Junior, has also raised eyebrows among conservative critics who argue that the attacker should set the standard as a role model to the Portuguese youth.
Spanish national defender Sergio Ramos was not to be outdone and also brought along his his new squeeze, Spanish TV personality and model, 34-year-old Pilar Rubio.
The 26-year-old recently called it quits with long-term girlfriend Lara Alvarez, a Spanish sports journalist, whom he publicly thanked on Twitter after winning the Euro 2012 with 'La Seleccion' last July.
However, he had been rumoured to be dating Pilar, who is eight years his senior, since October last year when photos of the couple cuddling in her balcony were snapped and published by the Spanish paparazzi.
The couple met at the Spanish national team's post-victory party in Madrid in July, and despite Rubio's efforts at keeping it low-profile, the secret was finally revealed on Monday.
In other sad news, Man City ace Sergio Aguero has publicly spoken up -- for the first time -- about his painful divorce from his wife of four years, Giannina Maradona, the youngest daughter of the Argentinean legend.
The 24-year-old admitted that one of the biggest personal challenges he deals with is being separated from his 3-year-old son, Benjie, and staying focused on his career in the Premiership.
"In recent months, I have been trying to adapt to a new life after my separation. It hasn't been easy because me and Giannina had some intense years together and we shared very strong experiences. During that time, we grew a lot as individuals and especially as a result of that love, we had Benjie, who is a blessing," the striker said, in an interview with Argentinean newspaper, "Ole".
"That's what I find is most difficult -- because Benjie is in Buenos Aires and I, for logical reasons, have to stay in Manchester. I try not to be affected because (you have to) be as professional as possible. I think it does not affect my athletic performances. But being away from a child is not easy. It is impossible not to miss Ben."
