Germany's Mario Gotze is the young player to watch this Euro 2012, according to a Yahoo! Singapore poll.
The 20-year-old garnered 35% of the total 875 votes and beat the likes of England's Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain who came in second, Italy's Mario Balotelli, France's Yann M'Vila and Denmark's Christian Eriksen.Gotze is the young player to watch in Euro 2012: Yahoo! poll
Touted as the 'Lionel Messi' of Germany, the attacking midfielder is the next big thing off the German production line and one of the best young talents in world football.
For a player so young, he has already won two Bundesliga titles and a German Cup with Borussia Dortmund, who would find it hard to hold on to him should he set Euro 2012 ablaze.
Having said that, he is unlikely to be a regular starter for Joachim Low's side in Poland and Ukraine. But he could well make an impact off the bench as Germany look to avenge their defeat in the final of Euro 2008.
Besides Gotze, there is a line of young players who are ready to shine on the big stage.
Oxlade-Chamberlain enjoyed a breakthrough season for Arsenal and could be the trump card for England while Balotelli has what it takes to be the star of the tournament if he keeps his head straight.
Eyes will also be on M'Vila, who is the next big thing emerging from French football while Eriksen can showcase his talent for the Danes in the Group of Death.
