Aleksandar Duric has been left out of the Singapore squad for their upcoming 2014 FIFA World Cup third-round qualifier against Iraq on 29 February.
Coach Radojko Avramovic announced his 25-man provisional squad on Wednesday, with the biggest surprise being the absence of Duric's name on the list.
The 41-year-old has been a regular fixture in the Lions squad since making his debut in 2007.
Another surprising move by the Avramovic came in the form of Baihakki Khaizan, who received his first call-up for over a year.
The 28-year-old was dropped from the squad following the Lions' dismal Suzuki Cup campaign in December 2010, where they were knocked out in the group stage.
But Baihakki, who scored the LionsXII's first goal in the Malaysian Super League season, has impressed with his performances at the heart of LionsXII defence and is rewarded with a call-up.
Also among the provisional squad list are four uncapped players.
LionsXII defender Muhammad Shakir Bin Hamzah and midfielder Muhammad Yasir Bin Hanapi are joined by Balestier Khalsa striker Patrick Brian Paranjody and goalkeeper Sim Wei Zhi Joey.
Singapore will play a friendly against Azerbaijan on 24 February as preparation for their 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier match against Iraq five days later.
