Smart, sassy and sexy, the top eight SingTel Grid Girl finalists were unveiled to the media on Thursday.
The eight girls are battling to earn the right to be at the front of the starting grid on race day during next month's Singapore F1 Grand Prix.
Ranging between 18-23 years old, the eight aspiring race queens made their media debut in uniforms designed by local designer Rosalinda Abdul Rahman, winner of F1 design competition "The Project Racetrack".
In a departure from previous years, only eight girls were chosen compared to the usual 12 to raise the level of competition.
"We raised the level of competition this year by allowing only eight instead of the usual 12 to make the cut. We are very happy with our finalists and invite the public to vote for their favourites and come down to meet them at our final road show, " said Mr Johan Buse, SingTel's Vice President of Consumer Marketing.
Part-time model Esther Leong, 19, said she was delighted to be among the final eight.
"I would really love to experience the excitement of the F1 event and meet the drivers up close," said the avid traveller.
Freelance model and motivational speaker Arrian North, 18, told Yahoo! Singapore said, "It's flattering to be in the top eight but of course, being in the top three would be even better! I can't wait to meet the drivers and of course, watch all the concerts. Maroon 5 is one of my favourite bands!".
Chosen solely by online and SMS voting, the top three will be crowned at a road show at East Coast Park on September 2.
