      The final score at the Jalan Besar Stadium read 1-1 on Tuesday night.

      But despite conceding a late equaliser to Selangor, the LionsXII were fortunate to earn a point.

      The visitors were clearly the better side, boasting the likes of Malaysia internationals Amri Yahyah and Amirul Hadi Zainal, as well as current Lebanese international Ramez Dayoub.

      Their goal-scorer of the night, Croatian Bosko Balaban, is also a big name to begin with.

      At 33, the striker has enjoyed a stellar career; having scored goals in four different top-tier European leagues.

      Many will also remember him from his two-year stint with English Premier League side Aston Villa a decade ago, not forgetting his 35 international caps and appearance in the 2002 and 2006 FIFA World Cup.

      However, two LionsXII players stood out on Tuesday night - goal scorer Sufian Anuar and custodian Hyrulnizam Jumaat.

    • ‘Make Young Lions the official LionsXII feeder team’

      LionsXII and Young LionsLast week, the Football Association of Singapore (FAS) released a media statement to assure S-League clubs that LionsXII would not poach any of their players, barring one exception — Courts Young Lions.

      LionsXII coach V Sundramoorthy has openly stated he is eyeing a few Young Lions players to replenish his squad in the upcoming transfer window.

      In so doing, Sundram all but confirmed one fact — Young Lions is the feeder club to our Malaysia Super League (MSL) side LionsXII. The only thing missing was perhaps  the lack of an official announcement.

      It's not hard to see why though: the Young Lions have contributed backroom staff and the most number of players out of all the S-League clubs to the current crop of LionsXII players in the MSL. The class of Young Lions 2011 lost arguably their top 13 players to LionsXII. The crowd pullers of last season -- Hariss Harun, Khairul Nizam and Gabriel Quak -- were all "promoted" to LionsXII.
